According to the Washington Examiner, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will launch an initiative program to stop tobacco retailers by selling illegal vaping products. The FDA will begin to mail letters and notices this fall tobacco retailers.

Yuba City bans new tobacco and vape shops downtown
We are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to create healthier, smoke-free environments for our community! Coalition members from CATCH, Blue Zones Project (BZP), Downtown Business Association (DBA), and support from the Califorina Health Collaborative STAAND project (CHC), proudly proposed a moratorium aimed at taking critical steps toward promoting smoke-free, non-recreational outdoor areas in downtown Yuba City.
With overwhelming support from community members, local partners, and key stakeholders, the City Council has officially passed an ordinance restricting the establishment of any new tobacco retailers in the vibrant downtown Yuba City area, specifically along Plumas Street.
The passing of this ordinance marks a truly significant achievement in our mission to foster safer, cleaner public spaces for our families, business owners, and residents. This success reflects the power of collaboration and the unwavering dedication of our coalition partners. As we move forward, we are excited to continue offering technical support, community education, and resources to ensure the effective implementation of this initiative.
